- Paying yearly, Professional is £320 a user plus VAT, which works out at £26.67 a user a month. That's still more than OnPoint's first seat, and nearly three times an extra person.1
- When we checked, their site also offered 50% off for two months through an enquiry form. The receipts use their standard prices.12
- OnPoint isn't VAT registered, so £19 is the whole price. There's no VAT to add or claim back.

Pest control reports, chimney sweeping certificates, hazardous waste consignment notes and method statements are among them. OnPoint has 62 certificate types for gas, electrical, fire, oil and renewables work, plus 9 ready-made templates, with a pest control visit, a chimney sweep and a risk assessment and method statement among them. That's still fewer, and anything else, like a waste note, you'd build yourself.2,3,4

Fewer forms. Each one checks itself as you fill it in.
OnPoint reads gas, electrical and oil certificates while you fill them in. When something doesn't add up, it tells you there and then, usually with why and how to fix it. It never changes a reading and never stops you sending. The certificate is yours to issue.
Powered Now's site says its smart fields guide you through each step to reduce errors.6 It doesn't describe checks on the readings themselves, so the table below says Not advertised.

Quote follow-ups and invoice chasing are both off until you switch them on. Then a quote with no answer is emailed again with a link to accept, decline or ask a question, and it stops as soon as they answer. You can switch it off on any quote.

In OnPoint, any trade can take a photo of a paper form and it's rebuilt as one you fill in on your phone, with yes or no answers, readings and the customer's signature. Or start from one of 9 ready-made templates, like a pest control visit or a fire risk assessment, and change it to suit.
The customer signs on your phone, or from a link you send them. Mark a date on the form as coming round and it lands in Renewals with a reminder, like a certificate. It won't copy regulated certificates like a gas safety record or an EICR. Those are built in, and they open with your registration.

Is OnPoint cheaper than Powered Now?
Yes, at every team size on their published prices. For one person, OnPoint is £19 a month and Powered Now Professional, their cheapest plan with certificates, is £32 plus VAT. For five people it's £55 against £160 plus VAT. For ten it's £100 against £320 plus VAT. Paying yearly brings Professional to £320 a user plus VAT.
How much does Powered Now cost?
On 26 September 2026 their site listed Business at £28 a month for one user, Professional at £32 a month per user and Premium at £40 a month per user, all plus VAT. Paying yearly gets two months free. Certificates start on Professional, and the customer portal and automatic chasing on Premium.
Does Powered Now have more certificates and forms than OnPoint?
Yes. They advertise 80+ forms and certificates, including pest control, chimney sweeping and hazardous waste. OnPoint has 62 certificate types for gas, electrical, fire, oil and renewables, and 9 ready-made templates, including a pest control visit and a chimney sweep, that you can change to suit. Any other form you can build from a photo of your paper one, and customers can sign it on your phone or from a link.
Does OnPoint do oil certificates?
Yes. OnPoint has five oil records based on the OFTEC forms: service and commissioning (CD/11), tank risk assessment (TI/133D), installation completion (CD/10), warning and advice notice (CD/14) and the landlord check (CD/12). They open when you add your OFTEC registration, and they're checked as you fill them in.
What does OnPoint check on a certificate?
Readings and answers that don't add up. On an EICR that includes a Zs reading above the maximum for the breaker, or a report marked satisfactory with a C2 on it. On a gas safety record, a CO/CO₂ ratio above the action level. On an oil record, an appliance left unsafe with no warning notice. Most checks also say why, and how to fix it. None of them stop you sending.
Does Powered Now do Making Tax Digital?
Yes. Their site says MTD for Income Tax is built in on every plan, and Professional and Premium submit VAT returns to HMRC. OnPoint doesn't file tax returns. Its reports include a VAT summary you can export, and it connects to Xero, where you or your accountant can file.
Does Powered Now have a customer portal?
Yes, on their Premium plan at £40 a user a month plus VAT. OnPoint's customer portal is on its only plan: customers open a link, with no login, to accept quotes, pay invoices, see certificates, report a repair and book visits.
Does OnPoint do recurring jobs?
Yes. Put a customer on a service plan, every week, month or year, or whatever suits, and each visit goes in the diary by itself weeks before it's due, or waits on a list for you to agree a day. On a finished job, Book next service books the next one for the same customer, property and engineer. OnPoint doesn't repeat invoices, though: you invoice each visit. Powered Now has recurring invoices as well as recurring appointments.
Do both work offline?
Yes, but not in the same way. Powered Now says you can prepare quotes and invoices with no signal. In OnPoint, jobs, customers and certificates, with their signatures and photos, work offline and sync later, but quotes and invoices need a connection.
Can I move from Powered Now to OnPoint?
Yes. Export your data from Powered Now and send it to us, and we'll import it for you, free. Or bring your customers in yourself from a spreadsheet. Record the certificates you've already issued with their due dates so renewals still come round. OnPoint is 14 days free with no card, then month to month.
Is there a contract with either?
No. OnPoint is month to month, or yearly with two months free. Powered Now's plans are rolling and can be cancelled any time, and they offer yearly billing too.
Which is better for a gas or electrical business?
If most of your paperwork is gas safety records, EICRs, fire alarm or oil certificates and you want them checked as you go, OnPoint. If you need forms across many trades, or tax returns in the same app, Powered Now.
