Powered Now advertises the Electrical Installation Certificate and Minor Electrical Installation Works. OnPoint has 20, including the EICR, emergency lighting completion and periodic testing, fire detection and alarm across design, installation, commissioning and dwellings, the full PAT family, electrical isolation and distribution board details.
The validation engine
67 rules across Gas Safe procedure and BS 7671 that stop an invalid certificate being issued — a GC number contradicting the manufacturer, an unsafe appliance with no Danger Do Not Use notice, an EICR marked unsatisfactory with no C1, C2 or FI, measured Zs above the maximum, CPC below Table 54.7. Everything on every plan
On Powered Now, certificates start at Professional (£32/user) and the customer portal, invoice and quote chasing, drag-and-drop scheduling and AI start at Premium (£40/user). On OnPoint every feature is included from the first £19 seat — there is no higher tier to move up to.
What a team pays
The largest single difference between the two. Five seats is £55 on OnPoint against £160 on Professional or £200 on Premium; ten seats is £100 against £320 or £400. Full figures below.
AI on the certificate, not just the text
Appliance details read from a photo of the data plate with per-field confidence and a refusal to guess serial numbers, flue readings read from the analyser, spoken job reports turned into structured written ones, GC number and fault-code lookup. Powered Now's AI generates job notes and descriptions, and sits on Premium.
Getting paid
Payment plans and instalments with saved cards and automatic reminders, late-payment interest on configurable terms, and a bank feed that matches payments automatically with a pending-match queue. They advertise deposits and part payments; the plans, interest and bank matching are not advertised.
Subcontracting with an audit trail
A partner network for sending and receiving job offers, a subcontractor portal for progress and evidence, completion proof, payout tracking, and a hashed, frozen dispute evidence pack both sides can download. Not advertised on their site.
Customers booking themselves in
A public booking page with bookable services and durations, slot holds, a standby list and a gap filler for holes in the diary, plus automatic reminders. Not advertised on their site.
Smaller things that add up
QuickBooks as well as Xero, where they advertise Xero. A fleet register with DVLA vehicle lookup by registration. Certificate supersession tracking, and a way to record certificates that were issued elsewhere so the property's history is complete.
