01Clocking in
In and out from the phone, even at a house with no signal.
One tap to start the day, Break for lunch, Clock out at the end. On iPhone the timer sits on the Lock Screen with both buttons on it. With no signal it still clocks them in, and it goes up when they're back in coverage.
- Clocking in never records where anyone is. It often happens at home, so it's kept off the map.
- Reminders to clock in and out at the times you choose, when you switch them on
- The office sees who's on the clock right now, and who's been on it far too long

02Signing it off
Close it at the time they left, not when you noticed.
A shift left open on Friday is 72 hours by Monday. When you close it, OnPoint asks when they actually left. Then you approve the week one shift at a time or all at once, and anything you decline goes back with a reason.
- Decline with a reason, and the engineer reads it on their own time summary
- Change a shift after it's approved and it goes back to pending
- Each shift's hours are worked out on the server from the start, the end and the breaks
Hours, not payroll. There are no pay rates in OnPoint and it doesn't work out wages, overtime or holiday pay. You hand the approved hours to whoever does your payroll.
03Shift lock
Off shift, OnPoint can stay shut.
Choose the roles and people it covers. Off shift, OnPoint can hide the customer's number and the money, or show a lock screen with a Clock in button on it. It follows their clock-ins or your working hours, and the owner is never locked.

04Holidays
Holiday the diary already knows about.
Engineers ask for time off from their phone: annual, sick, personal or other, with what's left of their allowance on the form. You approve it, and from then on the diary warns anyone who tries to book them that week.

- Clocked in on a day they'd booked off? That's one of the six checks
- A warning, not a wall: you can still book them if you need to

What are OnPoint's timesheets?
They're where your team clocks in and out from their phones, with breaks, and where you check and approve the hours. Six checks flag the shifts worth a look, like a clock-out someone forgot. Holiday requests, shift lock and your vans' MOT, tax and insurance dates are part of it too, all in OnPoint, the job management app for UK trades.
Can engineers clock in from their phone?
Yes, from the OnPoint app on iPhone or Android, with Break and Clock out while the shift runs. On iPhone the timer and both buttons also sit on the Lock Screen.
Does clocking in work without signal?
Yes. Clocking in and out works with no signal and uploads when they're back in coverage. Jobs, photos, forms and certificates work offline too.
What does OnPoint flag on a timesheet?
Six things. A shift still open after 14 hours, a shift over 14 hours, somebody clocked in on a day they'd booked off, someone expected in with nothing logged, a day of 10 hours or more with no break, and a shift under 5 minutes. Each one says how serious it is and opens the day it's about.
What happens if someone forgets to clock out?
The shift is flagged once it's been open 14 hours. When you close it, you set the time they actually left rather than the time you noticed, so a shift left open on Friday isn't paid as 72 hours. It can't end before it started or in the future.
Does clocking in record where someone is?
No. Clocking in and out never records a position, because it often happens at home. The team map only shows where someone was last seen from On my way or finishing a job.
Can I stop people using OnPoint when they're off shift?
Yes, with shift lock. For the roles and people you choose, off shift can hide customer phone numbers, emails and money, or lock the app with a Clock in button and Ask for an hour. Off shift follows their clock-ins or your working hours. The owner is never locked.
How do holiday requests work?
Engineers request annual, sick, personal or other leave from their phone and see their remaining allowance as they do. You approve or decline it. Approved leave shows on the week grid, and the diary warns anyone who tries to book them on those days, though you can still book them if you need to.
Does it keep track of our vans?
It keeps each van's MOT, tax and insurance dates, found by registration, with the insurer and policy on file. Dates turn amber 30 days before they're due and red once they've passed. It doesn't track where the vans go, their mileage or fuel.
Does OnPoint do payroll?
No. There are no pay rates in OnPoint and it doesn't work out wages, overtime, holiday pay or anything you file. It gives you checked and approved hours to hand to whoever does your payroll.
Is there a report of hours per engineer?
Reports has Jobs by engineer: the visits and hours booked for each person in the period you pick. It counts what was booked in the diary, not what was clocked. The clocked hours are on the timesheet.
Who can see and approve timesheets?
Anyone whose role has Review and approve timesheets, which the Manager role starts with. Everyone can see their own hours, with each shift marked Approved, Awaiting approval or Declined, and the reason if it was declined.
What does it cost?
