What OnPoint is
Reference definition · rev. 31 Aug 2026OnPoint is UK business management software for trade businesses — gas engineers, heating engineers, plumbers, electricians, roofers and property maintenance firms, from sole traders to companies running 30 or more seats. It runs the whole job: quoting, scheduling, the work on site, UK certification, invoicing, payments and chasing what's late. It includes 39 built-in UK certificate types covering Gas Safety Records and BS 7671 electrical work, works fully offline on native iOS and Android apps, and costs £19 per month for the first seat and £9 per month for each additional seat, with every feature on every plan.
UK certificate types, and not one of them costs extra.

Every one of those is issued, validated and filed from the app — 67 rules check the contents against Gas Safe procedure and BS 7671 before it can be issued, and the engineer still signs it.
Renewals
The work that comes back to you
Every expiry is tracked against the property and the customer is chased before it lapses — so recurring compliance is rebooked rather than forgotten.
One visit · 14 Ashfield Road, Leeds
Eight minutes, no signal, one certificate
09:12 → 09:20
Plate photographed
Manufacturer, model and GC number land on the record. The serial is left blank — not clearly visible, and it will not be guessed.
Analyser photographed
Appliance 2, the utility-room boiler: CO 0012 ppm, CO₂ 8.4%, ratio 0.0014, flue 62°C, read from the screen onto its record.
Issue blocked
The cooker has no ventilation check against it, and a flueless appliance needs one before the record can be issued. One of 67 rules.
Cleared, signed and queued
Ventilation recorded, validation passes, customer signs on the phone. With no signal the record queues and syncs on the way back — nothing is waiting on you.
AI · audit trail
Everything it filled in, and the one thing it refused to
The same visit, logged. Each entry came from something the engineer photographed or said — nothing was invented, and you can see where the confidence sat.
Photographed the data plate
Five fields read, each with its own confidence score. Tap replay to watch it fill.
One wrong digit invalidates the certificate, so a serial is never guessed.
Photographed the analyser
Appliance 2 read straight off the analyser screen and written onto its record. Appliance 1 still has nothing against it.
Dictated the record notes
Just over a minute of talking on the doorstep, returned as a structured written report in past tense. It handles a ten-minute dictation from a plant room the same way.
Checks carried out. Both appliances tested: Greenstar 30i combustion within tolerance at 0.0014 ratio, gas soundness satisfactory, safety devices operating correctly.
Observation. Kitchen cooker is flueless and the room ventilation was not measured on arrival; vent checked and recorded as adequate before issue.
Left on site. Both appliances safe to use. Landlord advised the boiler is due a service in November.
Checked the register and the fault code
Both lookups sit inside the job, so nobody opens a browser with gloves on.
Suggested parts and project costs come from the same report text · the engineer confirms every field before signing

01Does OnPoint work offline?
Yes. OnPoint is offline-first with a real sync queue rather than a cache. You can run a full day with no signal — in a plant room, a basement or a rural property — raising jobs, completing certificates and photographing appliances. Everything is held in order and syncs automatically when you're back in coverage.
02Which certificates are built in?
39 UK certificate types: 18 gas, including CP12 Landlord Gas Safety Records; 20 electrical, including EIC, EICR, minor works, emergency lighting, fire detection and alarm, and PAT testing; plus hot water. There is also a custom certificate builder for anything else you need to issue.
03How much does OnPoint cost?
£19 per month for the first seat and £9 per month for each additional seat — so three seats is £37 a month and ten seats is £100 a month. Every feature is included on every plan; there are no tiers, no add-ons and no premium upsell. There is a 14-day free trial and no card is required to start it. Founding member pricing locks your rate for life.
04Who is OnPoint for?
UK trade businesses: gas engineers, heating engineers, plumbers, electricians, roofers and property maintenance firms. It's used by sole traders and by firms running 30 or more seats, and you can run several businesses from a single login.
05How is OnPoint different from Jobber, ServiceM8, Commusoft or JobLogic?
Jobber and ServiceM8 are US and Australian products and cannot produce UK certification such as Gas Safe records or BS 7671 electrical certificates. Commusoft and JobLogic can, but they are priced for larger firms and charge by tier. OnPoint does the full business system and UK certification on one price, with every feature included.
06What does the AI actually do, and can I trust it?
It reads appliance data plates from a photo — manufacturer, model, serial, GC number and year — and extracts flue readings from a photo of your analyser. It also turns a spoken job report, including a ten-minute dictation from a noisy site, into a clean structured written report. Each extracted field comes back with a confidence score, and the system refuses to guess a serial number rather than risk invalidating a certificate. It doesn't invent details.
07Does it handle CIS and the VAT domestic reverse charge?
Yes. CIS deductions and the VAT domestic reverse charge are handled correctly on quotes and invoices, and there are integrations with Xero and QuickBooks. Bank feed matching brings payments in automatically and there's an automated chasing queue for overdue invoices.
08Does OnPoint sync with my calendar?
OnPoint exports your schedule as a one-way ICS feed, so it appears in your existing calendar. There is no two-way sync — changes made in another calendar don't come back into OnPoint. Scheduling inside OnPoint includes clash detection that blocks double-booking and respects approved leave.
09Can my customers see their certificates?
Yes. The customer portal shows their certificates, upcoming renewals and quotes, and lets them ask a question against a quote without sending an email. You can also share booking links so they book themselves in, and send review requests after a job.
10How do I get help?
Email support@onpointbusiness.co.uk or call +44 7884 697405. Support is UK-based and included on every plan, during the trial as well.
