COMPAREICERTIFI
OnPoint vs iCertifi. One app for the whole job, or one app per certificate.
If you only issue electrical certificates on an iPhone or iPad, iCertifi costs less and goes deeper; if you run the whole job, or work in gas and electrical, OnPoint does it in one app for £19 a month.
Two receipts on the counter.
iCertifi sells a separate app for each kind of certificate, each with its own subscription. OnPoint is one app on one plan. Set your team and your trades, and both receipts reprint from each company's own published prices.

ONPOINT

For one person issuing electrical and gas certificates, with invoicing, OnPoint is £144.98 a year less, and the same plan also runs the diary, customer texts and customer portal.

THANK YOU
We've used each app's cheapest yearly plan, one per engineer, or their team licence where that's cheaper. Cloud Pro, iCertifi's cloud version for teams, costs more: £190 a year for one engineer, and £559.99 to £1,099.99 a year for its team plans.1 OnPoint's side is its yearly price: £190 for you and £90 for each extra person.
iCertifi's prices include VAT. OnPoint isn't VAT registered, so nothing is added to £19.1

We'd rather you pick the right app than ours. Here's where iCertifi is ahead, from their own site.

02BOARD VISION
Deeper tools for electrical testing.
Photograph a consumer unit and Board Vision fills in the circuit schedule. Test Vision reads results off your tester's screen, Circuit Designer sizes cables, and an AI check runs over the whole certificate. It's updated for Amendment 4 (A4:2026). OnPoint doesn't read a board or a tester from a photo.5
03£125.99 A YEAR
Cheaper if certificates are all you need.
One electrician pays £125.99 for a year of iCertifi, about £10.50 a month, with unlimited certificates. Their Enterprise licence covers unlimited engineers for £399.99 a year. You can also pay for 3 or 6 months. OnPoint's yearly price is £190, 2 months free.1,4
04IPHONE, IPAD, MAC
05SPARK AI + GASAI
06QS SIGN-OFF
Made for firms with a Qualified Supervisor.
On their Enterprise plans an engineer sends the certificate to the QS, who checks and signs it remotely, with an audit trail. Cloud Pro Enterprise also connects to Zapier, Make and n8n. OnPoint has no QS sign-off; it connects to those tools through its API and webhooks.4,6
Where OnPoint is the better choice.
When the certificate is one part of the job, not the whole of it. Each of these is a line on OnPoint's receipt that isn't on theirs.
Certificates, every trade0.00
Gas, electrical, fire and PAT in one app.
Every certificate you're registered for is in the same app, on the same customer and the same £19 plan. Your Gas Safe number opens the gas records. Confirm you're a qualified electrician and the electrical, fire alarm, emergency lighting and PAT certificates open, with your scheme number for the EIC.
Take on a new trade and there's no second app to buy. Everything you send a customer sits in one portal, behind one link.

Moving over from iCertifi.
Nothing has to happen in one go. Here's what moves, and how.
- 1
Keep your old certificates coming round.
Keep the PDFs iCertifi made. For each one that renews, use Record existing certificate: the customer, the type and the expiry date. It sits in Renewals and your customer still gets the reminder, until you issue the new one in OnPoint.
- 2
Bring your customers across.
Import from a spreadsheet: add the file or paste the rows, match the columns, and OnPoint skips anyone who's already there. It brings customers, not their properties. On the free trial it stops at the trial's customer limit; add a card to bring everyone, and you still pay nothing until day 14. Rather not? Send us your customer list and we'll import it for you.
- 3
Run both until you're sure.
OnPoint is month to month with no contract. Keep your iCertifi subscriptions until you're happy, then cancel them from your Apple ID.1 Stuck on anything? Ring +44 7884 697405 and you'll talk to the people who build OnPoint.
Log a certificate held elsewhere so OnPoint tracks its renewal. It appears in Renewals and sends reminders until you issue an OnPoint certificate of the same type.

“The auto-renewal reminders for gas safety records pay for the subscription on their own. No more landlords slipping through. We added properties this year because we could actually handle the compliance.”
“Engineers used to come back at 5pm with stacks of paper job sheets. Now everything's signed on the phone before they leave the customer. Invoices go out the same day. The cash flow shift was instant.”

Is OnPoint cheaper than iCertifi?
It depends what you need. For one electrician who only wants electrical certificates, no: iCertifi's yearly plan is £125.99, about £10.50 a month, and OnPoint is £190 a year, or £19 a month. If you do gas and electrical you need two iCertifi apps, £125.99 and £149 a year, so £274.99 against £190 a year for OnPoint, which also runs your jobs, quotes and invoices. For big teams, iCertifi's Enterprise licences can cost less than OnPoint's £90 a person a year, for the certificates alone.
Do I need a separate iCertifi app for gas and electrical?
Yes. iCertifi's FAQ says each app is a separate product that you buy separately. Electrical certificates are in iCertifi or Cloud Pro, gas in Gas Cert, fire alarms and emergency lighting in Fire Edition, and PAT in PAT Test Pro. OnPoint has all of them in one app on one plan, and each opens with your registration.
How much does iCertifi cost?
From their pricing page on 26 September 2026: iCertifi, the electrical app, is £59.99 for 3 months, £89.99 for 6 or £125.99 for 12. Cloud Pro is £24.99 a month or £190 a year. Gas Cert is £24.99 a month or £149 a year. Fire Edition is £125.99 a year and PAT Test Pro £120.99 a year. Their prices include VAT and are billed through your Apple ID.
Does iCertifi work on Android or Windows?
Their site lists iPhone, iPad and Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later), and doesn't mention Android or Windows. OnPoint has iPhone, iPad and Android apps, and runs in the web browser on any computer.
Does iCertifi do invoices, quotes and job scheduling?
Invoices and quotes are in Mint Books, a separate bookkeeping and invoicing app that links to iCertifi, where a finished certificate becomes a draft invoice. Their site doesn't advertise a job diary, online booking or customer texts. In OnPoint, the diary, quotes, invoices and card payments are all part of the same app.
Can OnPoint read a consumer unit from a photo, like Board Vision?
No, and that's one of iCertifi's strengths. OnPoint reads gas appliance data plates from a photo, and flue analyser readings on gas and oil records. Its electrical certificates check readings like maximum Zs and RCD trip times as you fill them in, and flag anything that doesn't add up. The checks never stop you sending.
Does OnPoint send certificate renewal reminders automatically?
Yes. 30 days before a certificate's next inspection date, the customer gets a Certificate Expiry Reminder email from your business. It's on by default, and you can change the timing or switch it off for one certificate. If you take online bookings, the customer can pick a time for the renewal from that email. You can also switch on a text to their mobile, sent the same morning.
Does OnPoint work offline like iCertifi?
Yes, for the work on site. Jobs, customers, sites and certificates, with their signatures and photos, save on your phone and sync when you're back in signal. Quotes and invoices need a connection. iCertifi goes further offline: you can make a certificate's PDF with no signal at all.
Can I move from iCertifi to OnPoint?
Yes. Keep your iCertifi PDFs. For certificates that renew, use Record existing certificate in OnPoint: add the type and the expiry date and it sits in Renewals, with your customer still reminded. Bring your customer list in from a spreadsheet, or send it to us and we'll import it for you. OnPoint is month to month, so you can run both until you're happy.
Which is better for a business that does gas and electrical?
Usually OnPoint: one app, one customer list and one bill for both, plus the jobs and the invoicing. With iCertifi you'd run Gas Cert and iCertifi side by side, £274.99 a year for one engineer on their yearly plans, before you add Mint Books for invoicing.
Does OnPoint have Qualified Supervisor sign-off?
No. If your QS needs to review and sign certificates remotely, with an audit trail, iCertifi's Enterprise plans do that and OnPoint doesn't. OnPoint's remote signing is for your customer instead: they sign the certificate from a link, or confirm they've received an EICR or EIC.
