In short
OnPoint's certificate software lets UK trade businesses fill in, check, sign and send certificates from a phone, with or without signal. It covers 62 UK types, you see the ones your registrations cover, and each one lands in the customer's portal with a reminder before it's due again.
01Checked
It reads what you wrote, before your customer does.
The checks run on the phone as you fill the record in. Each one says what's wrong, why, and how to fix it. They never stop you issuing: three contradictions ask before you send, and even those leave the choice with you.
- Must be resolvedThe record contradicts itself. You're asked before it goes, and you still decide.
- ProblemSomething on it is wrong and worth fixing before it's sent.
- Worth checkingIt looks wrong, so it's worth a second look.
- NoteWorth knowing, nothing more.

Overall assessment
Must be resolved
This report is marked SATISFACTORY but records C2.
A C1 or C2 means the installation is not in a satisfactory condition. Issuing it as satisfactory would misstate the inspection.
Change the assessment to UNSATISFACTORY, or revisit the codes if they were entered in error.
BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 model EICR, Section K
Checked on the phone, as you fill it in
Change the code or the assessment, then press Send. The wording is the engine's own.
A few of the other checks, in plain words
- Measured Zs exceeds the maximum permitted
- The RCD takes longer than 40 ms to operate at 5 IΔn
- The GC number belongs to a different manufacturer from the one entered
- The CO alarm expires before the next inspection is due
- A legionella risk is identified with no recommendation against it
- The next inspection is more than twelve months after this check

03Renewed
A reminder before it's due, from the first day.
Every certificate with a next date comes round on Renewals. The customer is emailed 30 days before it's due, copied to you, and you can see whether each one landed. Change how far ahead, or add a text on the same morning when you want one.
- Service records say a service is due, legionella assessments say review, PAT says retest
- Switch the reminder off for one certificate, say when the visit is already booked
- Record certificates from before OnPoint, so they come round too
“The auto-renewal reminders for gas safety records pay for the subscription on their own. No more landlords slipping through. We added properties this year because we could actually handle the compliance.”

05And the rest
The small things that save the evening.
- No signal, no problemFill in, check and sign in a plant room with no bars. It goes up when you're back in coverage.
- Read the plate, not the manualOn gas records, photograph the data plate or the analyser and the boxes fill in, with anything it isn't sure of flagged for you.
- In the customer's portalEvery certificate you've issued them, grouped by property, with one button to download them all.
- Last visit, brought acrossOn commercial gas, oil and F-Gas records, bring the equipment details across from the last record at that address. Readings never carry.
- Your logo on every oneUpload a transparent logo and size it on the certificate itself. Your portal uses it too.
- Certificates from before OnPointRecord an existing certificate with its expiry date and it comes round on Renewals until you issue your own.
Goes well with.
Certificates sit on the same customer, the same diary and the same portal as the rest of OnPoint.

Which certificates does OnPoint do?
62 UK certificate types: 18 gas, 17 electrical, 12 fire and emergency lighting, 5 oil, and 10 for heating, hot water and other trades, such as heat pumps, F-Gas, solid fuel and TMVs. For anything else there's a form builder with 9 ready-made templates.
Why can't I see every certificate type?
You see the types your registrations cover. Switch them on in Settings, under Organisation details and Credentials. Gas Safe opens gas, OFTEC opens oil, a qualified electrician opens electrical, fire alarm and emergency lighting, and a competent person scheme adds the EIC and EV charge point certificates. MCS, HETAS, PAT testing, water hygiene and an F-Gas company certificate each open their own records. They open as soon as your number is in. OnPoint checks Gas Safe, OFTEC and scheme numbers, and a rejected number locks them again.
Does OnPoint check certificates for mistakes?
Yes, on the phone, as you fill them in. Each check says what's wrong, why and how to fix it. The checks never stop you issuing. Three contradictions ask before you send, such as an EICR marked SATISFACTORY that records a C1 or C2, and even then you can choose Send anyway.
Can customers sign certificates from a link?
Yes. 32 types can be signed by the customer from a link sent by email or text: all 19 gas and hot water records, all 5 oil records, and 8 more, including boiler commissioning, heat pumps, solar PV handover, solid fuel and fire alarm servicing. For an EIC, domestic EIC, EICR or Minor Works the customer confirms they've received it instead, which doesn't change the report. They can also sign on your phone on the day.
Does it send renewal reminders?
Yes. The customer is emailed 30 days before a certificate is due, from your first day, and you can change how far ahead. A text on the same morning is there too, off until you switch it on. You can switch the reminder off for one certificate, for example when the visit is already booked.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. Certificates can be filled in, checked and signed with no signal, and they go up when you're back in coverage.
Can I make my own forms?
Yes. Start from one of 9 ready-made templates, like a fire risk assessment or a biomass boiler service, build your own, or photograph a paper form and let the AI lay it out. Mark a date field so the record comes round on Renewals, and add a customer signature box so it can be signed from a link.
Can I add certificates done before I used OnPoint?
Yes. Record an existing certificate with its expiry date and it comes round on Renewals like the rest, until you issue your own.
Is OnPoint approved by Gas Safe Register?
No. OnPoint is software. It checks gas records against Gas Safe procedure and electrical records against BS 7671, but it isn't accredited or endorsed by Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, the IET or BSI. The engineer who signs a certificate stays responsible for the work.
What does it cost?
£19 a month for you and £9 a month for each person you add, with every certificate type included and no add-ons. You get 14 days free first, with no card needed. Or pay yearly: £190 a year for you and £90 for each extra person, which is 2 months free.
Put one real certificate through it.
Switch on your registrations, fill in a gas safety record or an EICR the way you normally would, and see what the checks say before you sign. 14 days free, no card. Then £19 a month for you and £9 for each person you add, with every certificate type included.
